The latest club championship standings are now available on the homestead web site.
Despite rumours to the contrary the June show went ahead, and although a few of the Show Jumping classes had to be cut short due to the wind throwing some of the jump wings around (not to mention the odd tree) like skittles we managed another great show – thanks again to everyone who came! For future reference, it’s very rare that we actually cancel a show but if you’re unsure over the weather please do call the yard on 07973 528 732 to double check.
Photos are up on the jumpforit.co.uk and A&R web sites now!
Points following 22nd June show:
The longest day of the year of the year has been and gone and we are now into the balmy days of summer and the school holidays. But there won’t be any school breaks for our four-legged friends – certainly not for the Homestead members as we have plenty of clincs, shows, dressage days & show jumping evenings to look forward to!
A big thanks to everyone who braved the rain and turned up on the 1st. Here are the results from the day:

Well, what a great start to the ‘08 show season that was! A warm welcome to new club members joining us on the day, and of course well done to everyone who took part and extra special congratulations if you came away with rosettes and/or silverware.
Photos from the in-hand and ridden classes are now available at jumpforit.co.uk, our show photographers this season, with a range of print options at very reasonable prices. Show jumpers might like to keep an eye on the A&R site – unless of course, like some of us, you had a round that you’d rather forget…
Thanks to everyone who turned up, and if you didn’t make it – what kept you? Put a big red circle around June 22nd in your diary!
Where is Spring?! It’s much to cold to be April, hopefully May will bring some sunshine and we can get out the fly-spray again! Anyway, May and June also bring the start of the competition season, with Shows and Dressage/Combined Training as well as the usual Clinics for flat work & jumping. The clinics have been moved to evening slots to keep the weekends free for competing – so here goes…
Would anyone be interested in going to a first aid for riders session on 14th April? It’s at 6.30pm in Harrogate – if you’d like to come, please contact James (james@golfbravo.co.uk) or Tracy ASAP so we can let them know numbers.
The event is being organised by Joanna Joyce-Gray, who took a nasty tumble while out hunting with the West of Yore and realised she hadn’t a clue what to do should she come across someone else in a similar situation. Donations on the night to the Air Ambulance.
Here’s the article from last week’s Equestrian Post…
